Basketball Recap: Kendall Greene Key Part of a Team Effort in Eagles Win

North Point lost to Thomas Stone back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The North Point Eagles enjoyed a cozy 64-49 win over the Thomas Stone Cougars. The Eagles pushed the score to 53-33 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars cut but never quite recovered from.

North Point got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kendall Greene out in front who went 6 of 11 en route to 13 points and three steals. Those 13 points gave Greene a new career-high. Iman Philpot also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

North Point smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.

When it comes to explaining why Thomas Stone lost, don't look at Brayden Brown. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 16 on his way to 21 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrell Thompson, who went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points and five rebounds.

North Point's record is now 6-8. As for Thomas Stone, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

North Point will be playing at home against Chopticon at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. North Point is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season. As for Thomas Stone, they will head out to challenge Lackey at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lackey has six straight wins, Thomas Stone has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
