Seymour had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Xavier Hawks with a sharp 15-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Thunder, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Scott Sassman was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brandon Poch, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Seymour's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Xavier, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Coming up, Seymour will be playing at home against Denmark at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Xavier, they will venture away from home to take on New London at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
