Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fort Zumwalt East). They blew past the McCluer North Stars 15-4 on Thursday. Considering the Lions have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Aiden Horn tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Travis Hill was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Morgan, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Fort Zumwalt East hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive games.
Fort Zumwalt East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-12 record this season. As for McCluer North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-15.
