Last Friday, Broomfield didn't have too much trouble with Fruita Monument on the road as they won 21-6.
Broomfield's success was spearheaded by the efforts of CT Worley, who rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown, and Caleb Meehan, who rushed for 65 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Heritage put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season last Thursday. They claimed a resounding 54-0 win over Aurora Central at home. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Heritage's two-point performance the match before.
Heritage's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kurt Rossner, who threw for 156 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Freng, who gained 89 total yards and two touchdowns.
Broomfield's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Heritage, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Everything came up roses for Broomfield against Heritage when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 46-0 win. Will Broomfield repeat their success, or does Heritage have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
