The Weeki Wachee Hornets''s four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They walked away with a 20-8 win over Anclote. The victory was just what Weeki Wachee needed coming off of a 55-0 defeat in their prior matchup.
Among those leading the charge was Richard Hanshaw, who threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes. Adrian Cabezudo did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 114 receiving yards.
Weeki Wachee's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 4.5 times. Leading the way was Tyler Ciccio and his 2.5 sacks.
Damian Spencer and Elijah Franks, Anclote certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Spencer rushed for 102 yards, while Franks picked up 135 receiving yards. Franks' longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards.
Weeki Wachee's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Anclote, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Weeki Wachee will take on Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Anclote, they will head out on the road to face off against Hudson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hudson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Anclote in Florida (Hudson is ranked 151st, while Anclote is ranked 529th).
