The Winston County Yellowjackets fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They claimed a resounding 71-32 victory over Addison on the road. For Winston County, this counts as revenge for the 65-43 defeat Addison walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Winston County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lynleigh Cobb led the charge by dropping a double-double on 26 points and 10 rebounds. Cobb is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Kate Veal, who went 7 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 3 assists.
Winston County's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-7. As for Addison, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winston County will face off against Sumiton Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Addison, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Bernard Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
