The Cedar Bluffs Wildcats's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Lyons-Decatur Northeast out 21-19. This was payback for Cedar Bluffs, who suffered a 51-37 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Lyons-Decatur Northeast saw an underclassman step up: Tavyanna Parker scored eight points along with seven rebounds. Parker scored a full 42.1% of Lyons-Decatur Northeast's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Even though they lost, Lyons-Decatur Northeast were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Cedar Bluffs now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lyons-Decatur Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Cedar Bluffs will head out on the road to face off against Omaha Christian Academy on Thursday. Lyons-Decatur Northeast will be home for the holidays to greet Howells-Dodge at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Howells-Dodge is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
