After flying high against the Omaha South Packers on Friday, the Fremont Tigers came back down to earth. Fremont was beaten by Pius X 78-39 on Saturday. Fremont was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-23.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jenna Mcclain, who scored 18 points. Mcclain is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Denker, who scored 11 points.
Pius X got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ava Markowski out in front who scored 15 points. It was the first time this season that Markowski scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Hannah Bedient, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Fremont's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Pius X, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fremont will take on Kearney at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Fremont and Kearney are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Pius X, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln Northeast has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 277 points over their last four games.
