The Channelview Falcons are on the road again on Friday and play against the King Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Channelview has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 296 points over their last six games.
Even though Pasadena Memorial scored an imposing 40 points on Saturday, Channelview still came out on top. Channelview snuck past Pasadena Memorial with a 45-40 victory.
Channelview relied on the efforts of Traveon Jackson, who rushed for 129 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and Tyrone Scyrus, who rushed for 224 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Jason Wheelock was another major influence, as he rushed for six yards and ran in a TD.
Meanwhile, after only 12 points in their last game, King made sure to put some points up on the board against West Brook on Friday. King took their match at home with ease, bagging a 62-7 victory over West Brook. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 55-7.
Darius Clark-James was a one-man wrecking crew for King as he threw for 381 yards and five touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. King also got help from Kason Dobbins who showed off his sure hands for 85 receiving yards.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to King's defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was K'mard Kimble and his two sacks.
Their wins bumped Channelview to 5-5 and King to 7-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Channelview has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 244.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like King struggles in that department as they've been averaging 186.2 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches. Channelview was taken down by King 70-14 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Thankfully for Channelview, Keith Willis jr (who rushed for 229 yards and six touchdowns on only 15 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
