Charleston Catholic has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Roane County Raiders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Charleston Catholic beat Poca 52-48.
Meanwhile, Roane County waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-50 win over Parkersburg Catholic. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Roane County has posted yet this season.
Roane County's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Anna Tolley, who scored 17 points along with two steals, and Piper Harlan, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Tolley is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Braylin Bowe, who scored six points along with two steals.
Charleston Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Roane County, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4.
Charleston Catholic was able to grind out a solid win over Roane County in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 32-22. The rematch might be a little tougher for Charleston Catholic since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
