St. Marys is on a 12-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Lake-Lehman is on a 16-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Flying Dutch will host the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While St. Marys' win against Clearfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Flying Dutch won by a run and slipped past the Bison 2-1. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Flying Dutch have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Avery Eckels made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Molly Hanslovan, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.
Meanwhile, Lake-Lehman posted their closest victory since April 18th on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Berwick 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won nine in a row.
Kirsten Finarelli was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Haylee Makarewicz, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Lake-Lehman's victory bumped their record up to 16-1. As for St. Marys, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. St. Marys has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lake-Lehman struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
