The Century Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by McMinnville on the road and fell 89-40. While losing is never fun, Century can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Grizzlies are ranked sixth).
Despite the loss, Century still got an impressive performance from Kami Carmean, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Abbie Scharringhausen, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Century has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for McMinnville, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.
Century will be playing at home against the Falcons at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for McMinnville, they will head out on the road to face off against the Crimson Tide at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Glencoe is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
