Hoke County got a massive performance out of McKenzie Freeman, who scored four runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Freeman a new career-high. Bailey Mass was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Freeman wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hoke County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Southern Lee, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Pinecrest by a score of 17-14 on Tuesday. With that victory, the Cavaliers brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.
Maggie Lucas was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Sydney Bisson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.
Southern Lee's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Hoke County, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Southern Lee's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Hoke County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game.
