Evergreen hasn't had much luck against Fairview recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Apaches at 5:00 p.m. Evergreen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.
Evergreen made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Archbold, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Vikings fell just short of the Blue Streaks by a score of 5-3 on Monday.
Leah McVey was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fairview). Everything went their way against Wayne Trace on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-2 win.
Lilly Warner was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Warner was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Fairview got a massive performance out of Grace Poper, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Poper a new career-high. Rashele Hoffman was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Fairview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Evergreen's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Fairview, their victory bumped their record up to 2-11.
Fairview's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Evergreen has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Fairview, though, as they've been averaging 10.5 hits. Given Evergreen's sizable advantage in that area, the Apaches will need to find a way to close that gap.
Evergreen suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Fairview in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Vikings have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
