The Roosevelt Teddies pushed their score all the way to 57 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The game between them and Minneapolis South wasn't particularly close, with Roosevelt falling 74-57. Roosevelt has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Teddies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Avery Wells, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Josiah Alexander, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Roosevelt has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Minneapolis South, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will challenge the Polars at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. North Community has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 255 points over their last four matches. Minneapolis South's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Millers at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Minnesota (Washburn is ranked 11th, while the Tigers are ranked 23rd).
