After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Salt Fork, Villa Grove was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Georgetown-Ridge Farm Buffaloes. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Buffaloes: they've now won six in a row.

Piper Kiser was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). Kiser was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Jones, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Dodd, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Villa Grove's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Georgetown-Ridge Farm, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Villa Grove will challenge Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Georgetown-Ridge Farm, they will square off against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
