Nitro has enjoyed the comforts of home their last seven games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Cabell Midland Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Nitro's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
In what's become a running theme this season, Nitro gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Capital 74-24 at home. With Nitro ahead 43-12 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nitro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalie Smith, who scored ten points along with six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Newsome, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cabell Midland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 38-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Albans.
Nitro's win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Cabell Midland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Nitro came up short against Cabell Midland in their previous meeting back in January of 2019, falling 61-54. Can Nitro avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
