The biggest upset of the week belonged to Roxbury Latin, who took down 66th ranked Brooks, 33-6.
Thayer Academy's Aaron Gilmer recorded the longest rushing play in Independent School this season in his game against Governor's Academy last week. Gilmer's team fell to the Governors as he sprinted for 58 yards on the play and finished with 112 in all.
Thayer Academy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jack Becker threw for 294 and four touchdowns and Bryan Vieira had 179 yards receiving. Brendan Ford helped Thayer Academy's passing attack out by catching two balls for 44 yards.
Thayer Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Becker has thrown for 294 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Vieira has six catches for 179 yards. Gilmer leads the league in rushing with 112 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between St. Sebastian's School and Buckingham Browne & Nichols. The Arrows enters the contest ranked 16th in the state, while the Knights ranks 17th.
Becker and Vieira provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Governor's Academy. The longest such play in Independent School this season, the connection resulted in 65 yards.
