Volleyball Recap: V.R. Eaton Comes Up Short

V.R. Eaton lost against Byron Nelson back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles came up short against the Bobcat, falling 3-0. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Byron Nelson scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-17, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, V.R. Eaton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ariana Gomez had 13 assists and six digs. Gomez is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Byron Nelson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Savannah Sterna, who had ten digs and two aces. That's the most aces Sterna has posted over her last six contests. Kaitlyn Francis was another key player, getting ten digs.

V.R. Eaton's loss dropped their record down to 21-15. As for Byron Nelson, the win keeps them at an undefeated 34-0.
