Softball Recap: Kellis Starts Season with Win Against Youngker

Kellis had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 23-22 victory over the Youngker Roughriders on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Roughriders: they've now won three in a row.

Brooke Frinkle was incredible, going 3-for-4 with six RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliana Calleros, who scored two runs while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.

Coming up, Kellis will be playing in front of their home fans against McClintock at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Youngker, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will take on Canyon View at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
