McLean's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Springdale Prep 98-38. McLean was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-19.
When it comes to explaining why McLean lost, one person who can't be blamed is Eros Marchello. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points. The match was Marchello's fifth in a row with at least ten points. William Marks was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Springdale Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Langston Bailey out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of N'Faba Mane, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
McLean's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Springdale Prep, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
McLean will head out on the road to face off against Takoma Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Springdale Prep, they will stay at home for another game and welcome West Nottingham at 5:30 p.m. on December 4th. West Nottingham will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Springdale Prep is ranked 18th).
