Northfield won the last time they faced Albert Lea and things went their way on Thursday too. The Northfield Raiders took their game with ease, bagging a 71-44 victory over the Albert Lea Tigers. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Northfield's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kate Sand, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 14 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Lynch, who went 5-for-9 en route to 16 points and four steals.

Northfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive contests.

Northfield has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. As for Albert Lea, they dropped their record down to 3-21 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Northfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 53-42 victory against Richfield on the 15th. As for Albert Lea, they will face off against Faribault at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Faribault will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Albert Lea surely won't give up without a fight.
