District 10 Region 6 AAA/AAAA recap October 29, 2013
Cathedral Prep added to the longest winning streak in District 10 Region 6 AAA/AAAA this week by beating East, 70-8. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Ramblers.
The Warriors lost to Cathedral Prep 70-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Eddie Williams was a bright spot for East, as he ran for 55 yards and caught 3 passes for 49 yards in the loss.
General McLane's dynamic duo of Zach Fox and Clay Smith proved tough for Central Tech to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fox threw for 59 yards and 1 touchdown and Smith had 43 yards receiving. Jarrell Johnson helped General McLane's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 16 yards.
Kyle Sult was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Lancers bested the Falcons. The 6-foot-1 sophomore nabbed 1 interception.
Tyler Hammond was a beast in the backfield as McDowell beat Strong Vincent.
Hammond provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Trojans defeated the Colonels.
6-foot-1 quarterback Billy Fessler of Michael Mischler's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,637. He has also thrown 20 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Williams. The East star has 28 catches for 432 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Cathedral Prep takes on second place General McLane. The Ramblers defeated Leonard Ford's team last week, while General McLane bested Central Tech.
