The Leo Lions will face off against the Fremont Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Fremont will be up against a hot Leo squad: the team just extended their winning streak to seven. The Lions' pitcher stepped up to hand Woodlan a 12-0 shutout on Tuesday. The contest marked the Lions' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Not much got past Landon Slattery, who gave up just three hits to keep Woodlan off the board. Slattery has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Luke MacDonald, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dominic Rennecker, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fremont). Everything went their way against Angola on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-5 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
Colten Guthrie was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up five earned runs off five hits. Guthrie was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and one double.
In other batting news, Jackson Foster was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Tyler Miller was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.
Leo pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Fremont, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Leo took their win against Fremont in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-1 score. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
