The Leigh Longhorns entered their tilt with the Christopher Cougars with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Leigh had just enough and edged the Cougars out 71-69. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leigh's win on Wednesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cooper Smith, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Smith is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Caleb Asante was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Leigh is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Christopher, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.
