The Franklin Academy Huskies took care of business in their home opener on Saturday (and then some). They really took it to Brushton-Moira for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-27 win at home. That's another feather in the cap for Franklin Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Franklin Academy was led to victory by Bradley Poupore and Ian Mulverhill. Poupore scored 10 points along with 5 assists and 5 steals, while Mulverhill scored 12 points along with 6 steals and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Zendann Poirier, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Franklin Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Brushton-Moira, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Franklin Academy will head out on the road to face off against Salmon River at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brushton-Moira, they will be playing at home against St. Lawrence Central at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully St. Lawrence Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
