Hiawatha and Alden-Hebron are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Hiawatha Hawks will be home for the holidays to greet the Alden-Hebron Green Giants at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Hiawatha's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Mooseheart, falling 82-55. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hiawatha in their matchups with Mooseheart: they've now lost eight in a row.
Meanwhile, Alden-Hebron was beaten by Christian Liberty 67-39 on Friday. Alden-Hebron has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hiawatha bumped their record down to 3-10 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Alden-Hebron, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Hiawatha took a serious blow against Alden-Hebron in their previous matchup back in January, falling 68-22. Can Hiawatha avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
