The Sisseton Redmen scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took down Richland 60-42. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sisseton.
Richland's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nick Mjoness, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Mjoness scored a full 26.2% of Richland's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Nick Wulfekuhle was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Sisseton's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Richland, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sisseton will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Waubay/Summit at 6:15 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Richland will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
