After taking the lead in the fourth quarter,
Cathedral City (Calif.) held on for a 3-2 victory over
Twentynine Palms (Calif.) on Saturday. The difference for the Lions was
Louis Garcia kicked a field goal.
The Wildcats pulled ahead on a safety, and subsequently went into halftime leading 2-0. The Lions scored the winning points with a field goal by Garcia that came in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring zero points in the third, Cathedral City still trailed by 2 points going into the fourth quarter. But three points in the fourth helped CC pull out the victory.
The Lions' standout player in the win was Garcia. The junior wide receiver kicked one field goal.
Cathedral City got revenge for last year's 14-7 loss to Twentynine Palms with the victory.
Twentynine Palms (2-3) goes up against Big Bear in a De Anza game matchup next week, while Cathedral City (3-2) locks horns with Palm Desert in a Desert Valley game.
