The Banning Lewis Academy Stallions put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 40-6 win over Rye. The result was nothing new for Banning Lewis Academy, who have now won seven matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.
Chase Riehle continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 229 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Riehle's longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards. Banning Lewis Academy also got a significant boost from Joseph Bjegovich, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.
Banning Lewis Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-7 Bennett and 2-6 Jefferson (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.5% over those games). As for Rye, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Banning Lewis Academy will take on Ellicott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Ellicott focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday. As for Rye, they will head out on the road to face off against Rocky Ford at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rocky Ford is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
