The Blount Leopards's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 53-37 to Murphy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Blount in their matchups with Murphy: they've now lost three in a row.
Leading Murphy to victory were Deangelon Johnson and Cordairus Dixon. Johnson scored 13 points along with eight rebounds, while Dixon scored 17 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Kinley Simmons, who scored five points along with 12 rebounds.
Blount has been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 16 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season. As for Murphy, their win bumped their record up to 19-10.
Blount does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Murphy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-57 win vs. Theodore on the 8th.
