Lamar has been on the road for two straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Salida Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
On Thursday, Lamar strolled past Woodland Park with points to spare, taking the game 58-42. With that win, Lamar brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.
Lamar found their leader in underclassman Jacob Dunning, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. It was the first time this season that Dunning scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Brocc Brodecky, who scored ten points.
Lamar's lineup was just a bit different on Thursday as Diego Estrada got a bit more time on the court (16 vs. his season average of 6.76). Estrada made the most of the opportunity, scoring nine points. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Meanwhile, Salida unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Banning Lewis Academy by a score of 64-61.
Lamar has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Salida, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3.
