After three games on the road, Pendleton Heights is heading back home. They will take on the Mississinewa Indians at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, Pendleton Heights was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-48 to Muncie Central.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Aaron Cookston, who scored seven points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Sims, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Mississinewa has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell just short of Frankton by a score of 47-45. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mississinewa in their matchups with Frankton: they've now lost four in a row.
Pendleton Heights has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Mississinewa, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6.
Pendleton Heights was able to grind out a solid victory over Mississinewa in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 57-48. Will Pendleton Heights repeat their success, or does Mississinewa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
