If DeKalb were expecting to get some payback for the 0-50 defeat against South Holt/Nodaway-Holt the last time they met, then they were left disappointed. DeKalb were completely outmatched, falling 36-82 to South Holt/Nodaway-Holt. The state rankings had actually given DeKalb a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
The loss dropped DeKalb's record to 1-4. The win bumped South Holt/Nodaway-Holt's record up to 2-3.
Next week DeKalb take on North Nodaway/West Nodaway at 7:00 PM. Both of those teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games. South Holt/Nodaway-Holt will look to defend their home turf against Stewartsville/Osborn at 7:00 PM. The squad will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
