The Aliceville Yellowjackets posted their biggest win yet this season on Thursday. They put the hurt on Greene County with a sharp 66-45 victory. With that win, Aliceville brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.
Tyquan Simon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Tony Stewart was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Greene County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lester Scott. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Gibson, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Greene County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Aliceville now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Greene County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.
Aliceville will take on Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Marion has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Greene County, they will be playing at home against Tuscaloosa Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
