Northern won against McDonough last Wednesday with 53 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Northern Patriots beat the McDonough Rams by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 53-12. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.

Northern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mikayla Jones led the charge by putting up ten points and four steals. Avaya Fields was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Northern is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for McDonough and nudges their season record down to 6-14.

Northern has already played their next game, a 47-43 loss against Huntingtown on the 14th. As for McDonough, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-24 defeat against Calvert on the 14th.
