It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Myrtle Beach Seahawks can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Irmo on Friday, falling 55-24. Myrtle Beach's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Leading Irmo to victory were Aaron (AJ) Brand Jr. and Jaden Allen-hendrix. Brand Jr. rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, while Allen-hendrix gained 267 total yards and three touchdowns. Allen-hendrix was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards. Irmo also got help from Donovan Murph who showed off his sure hands for 86 receiving yards.
Myrtle Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Irmo, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Myrtle Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Irmo will head out on the road to face off against James Island at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. James Island is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
