Mora is 8-2 against Questa since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Rangers will welcome the Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
On Thursday, Mora got the win against Mesa Vista by a conclusive 19-11. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rangers.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Questa). They were the clear victors by a 27-1 margin over McCurdy on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Noah Rael was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Questa's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Rael was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and eight RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, Remington Smith was a standout: he got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ricardo Leon Jr., who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Questa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .723. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Questa's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Mora, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mora has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Questa struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Mora skirted past Questa 10-9 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Rangers repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
