On Friday Powers take on Gilchrist at 4:00 PM. Gilchrist will need to watch out since Powers have now posted big point totals in their last four contests.
After a big victory against Eddyville two weeks ago, Powers came back down to earth. Powers fell to McKenzie 35-46. Powers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, after a disappointing 6 points in their last match, Gilchrist made sure to put some points up on the board against Eddyville last Friday. Gilchrist steamrollered Eddyville 65-18. Gilchrist were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Gilchrist's victory lifted them to 1-2 while Powers's loss dropped them down to 3-1. After the lofty point totals in their previous games, we'll see if they're able to heat things up even more while facing each other.
