Winning is just a little bit easier when you make five more threes than your opponent, a fact the Dillon Wildcats proved on Wednesday. They secured a 47-41 W over Loris. The win made it back-to-back wins for Dillon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dillon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Treasure Davis, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. Davis has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mariah Campbell, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
Despite the loss, Loris still got an impressive performance from Janiya Richburg, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Richburg is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of LaKeya Martin, who scored four points along with 14 rebounds.
Dillon has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Loris, they bumped their record down to 6-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Dillon won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Aynor at 6:30 p.m. on January 11th. Aynor's defense has only allowed 28.9 points per game this season, so Dillon's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Loris, they will head out on the road to face off against Carvers Bay at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Carvers Bay is ranked 109th, while Loris is ranked 130th).
