The Highlands Ranch Falcons pushed their score all the way to 69 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Monarch 75-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Thursday (60), Highlands Ranch still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Highlands Ranch lost, one person who can't be blamed is Olin Anderson. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Gleason, who scored 12 points.
Monarch got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Logan Laverty out in front who scored 21 points along with 6 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Laverty has scored at least 25% of Monarch's points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Carlson, who scored 16 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Highlands Ranch and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Monarch, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highlands Ranch will take on Horizon at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th. As for Monarch, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northglenn at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
