GRANBURY, Texas - the Eagles had a big 21-point third quarter on Saturday, sealing a 34-10 victory over
Granbury (Texas).
Crowley scored on a touchdown run by
Larry Cheeks, a touchdown pass by
Matt Marner to
Tayvon Glover and a Marner touchdown pass to
Steven Lawson in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a Cheeks touchdown run in the second quarter, CHS led 13-10 at the half.
The Eagles expanded their lead to 24 points entering the fourth quarter. Crowley scored three times in the third, including once on a Cheeks touchdown run.
With the win CHS extended its winning streak to 10 games. The Eagles defeated the Owls 45-14 last week.
Crowley's most effective player was Marner. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns. He has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.
The Pirates' lone touchdown came on a pass in the second quarter.
CHS came in allowing an average of 21.2 points per game this season.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which Granbury took, 35-14.
The loss comes after Granbury defeated Arlington Heights 31-7 last week.
