The Loyalsock Township Lancers will venture away from home to take on the Mifflinburg Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Loyalsock Township is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Loyalsock Township gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Jersey Shore as they made off with a 10-2 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lancers needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Deryk Kulp spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Loyalsock Township's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 4-1 (and 4-7 when he doesn't).
At the plate, Chase Wright was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Kayden Keefer was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Loyalsock Township lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Mifflinburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Lewisburg. Wildcats fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Green Dragons since on Saturday.
Landen Murray made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and earned two runs and three stolen bases. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.
The victory got Loyalsock Township back to even at 8-8. As for Mifflinburg, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Mifflinburg's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Loyalsock Township hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. It's a different story for Mifflinburg, though, as they've only averaged .234. Will they be able to contain Loyalsock Township's hitters?
Loyalsock Township couldn't quite get it done against Mifflinburg in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 4-1. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
