The Veritas Christian Academy Warriors stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They breezed by Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy at home to the tune of 74-27. Winning may never get old, but Veritas Christian Academy sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Leading Veritas Christian Academy to victory were Ashton Dillon and Eli Robbins. Dillon scored 25 points, while Robbins scored 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dillon has scored at least a third of Veritas Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lee Burgess, who scored eight points.
Veritas Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Veritas Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Christian Family Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Christian Family Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy, they will be playing at home against Lake Lure Classical Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Lure Classical Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy in North Carolina (Lake Lure Classical Academy is ranked 276th, while Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy is ranked 702nd).
