Spring Valley and Ridge View are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Spring Valley Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Ridge View Blazers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Spring Valley is ranked 87th, while Ridge View is ranked 71st).
Spring Valley pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to Westwood. Spring Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Ridge View had to settle for a 47-45 loss against Blythewood on Thursday.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Simone Johnson, who scored 13 points. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Lucia Bailey was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Lexington's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Spring Valley's loss dropped theirs to 3-3.
Spring Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Ridge View when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 49-47. Does Spring Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ridge View turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
