The Fairfax HomeSchool Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Virginia Academy by a score of 60-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Virginia Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rondel Jones Jr. out in front who scored 20 points. Jihad Murray was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Fairfax HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Virginia Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairfax HomeSchool won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Ad Fontes Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Ad Fontes Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Fairfax HomeSchool is ranked 122nd). As for Virginia Academy, they will be playing at home against Evergreen Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
