The Fowler Grizzlies will challenge the Swink Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fowler is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 14 games.
Three must be Fowler's lucky number: they beat Las Animas with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Grizzlies won by a run and slipped past the Trojans 3-2.

Brock True was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.
True wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Joe Salvo, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Salvo has posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Swink ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They beat Rye by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-4. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Thunderbolts recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Like Fowler, Swink also got a great game from a two-way player: Noah Pearson. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Pearson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Swink is undefeated when Pearson posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nick Paolucci, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Nate Cabrera, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Fowler's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. As for Swink, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
Fowler came out on top in a nail-biter against Swink in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 7-6. Will the Grizzlies repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
