Basketball Recap: West Shore Comes Up Short

West Shore lost against Space Coast back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The West Shore Wildcats had to suffer through a 57-10 loss at the hands of the Space Coast Vipers. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-4.

Despite the loss, West Shore had strong showings from Emily Marshall, who posted two points and 11 rebounds, and Evangeline Trazzera, who had five points and seven rebounds. Marshall is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's played.

Phillayjah Carroll continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Space Coast, going 12 of 21 on her way to 25 points and eight steals. With that strong performance, Carroll is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Lashiya Walker, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

West Shore dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Space Coast, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.

West Shore will face off against Viera at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Space Coast, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 60-23 win against Pine Ridge on the 7th.
