The team relied heavily on Alicia Ott, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Romero, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.
Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Tracy waltzed into their contest on Monday with 15 straight wins... but they left with 16. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Flames a 1-0 shutout. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.
Elisa Galli looked comfortable as she tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ava Crivello was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
Tracy's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Lincoln hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Tracy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Lincoln might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Tracy in their previous meeting on April 10th. Will the Trojans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
