The Northside Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the New Iberia Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northside is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
Northside pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Zachary. That's two games in a row now that Northside has lost by exactly four points.
Meanwhile, New Iberia's and Loreauville's matchup on Tuesday was close at halftime, but New Iberia turned on the heat in the second half with 47 points. New Iberia blew past Loreauville 67-29 on the road. 67 seems to be a good number for New Iberia as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Among those leading the charge was Wayne Randall-bashay, who scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of New Iberia's points. Austin Delahoussaye was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
The losses dropped Northside to 1-3 and Zachary to 4-1.
Northside couldn't quite finish off New Iberia in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 and fell 67-65. Can Northside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
